The Primary Healing Circuit
“This seems to be the primary healing circuit: an outgoing love of God's creation and His people, by means of which we avail ourselves of His love for us. It is most clear that the current can't flow until our paralyzing dependencies are broken, and broken at depth. Only then can we possibly have a glimmer of what adult love really is.” From Emotional Sobriety
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:36-40
"Love your neighbor as yourself." The Torah
"You yourself, as much as anybody
in the entire universe, deserve your
love and affection." Buddha
"But obviously you cannot transmit something you haven't got." Big Book page 164
I will give you a hint: God can’t love you more than you are willing to love yourself.
“Nowadays my brain no longer races compulsively in either elation, grandiosity or depression. I have been given a quiet place in bright sunshine.”

“A quiet place in the bright sunshine”
This is one of my favorite meditations.
I imagine the feeling of the warm sun on my face as a representation of God’s love for me.
Put the tips of your thumb and middle finger together on your non-dominant hand, apply enough pressure that the tips of your fingers just start to turn white. Close your eyes and imagine:
This is how much God loves me.
This is how much I love God.
This is how much I love myself.
This is how much I love you (others).
I also enjoy listening to love songs and imagining God singing to me or myself singing to my inner child.
